PASIGHAT, Nov 20: Apex Professional University (APU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) on November 19 last in Guwahati which will pave the way for enhancing the skills of the APU students in areas of corporate governance and discipline.
APU was represented by Registrar VS Moray and the ICSI by Chairman, NE Chapter, EIRC, ICSI Bishal Harlalka. The terms of the MoU are intended for having excellent educational training and counselling in the arena of commerce and management. "I am happy that the university has entered into a MoU with a professional body that can facilitate the university’s students to enhance their skills in corporate governance and discipline,” Chancellor, APU Acharya Dhanwant Singh said. Chairman, NE Chapter, EIRC, ICSI Bishal Harlalka emphasized that the primary intention of ICSI would be to create an awareness among the students of APU to understand and realize the importance of commerce and management in growth of the country.
President ICSI, Ashish Garg while expressing his inability to be physically present during signing of the MoU expressed confidence the step will benefit the students from the Northeast in general and Arunachal Pradesh in particular to focus on areas like commerce, corporate administration etc.
