ITANAGAR, Nov 23: Special Investigation Team (SIC) has filed 860 pages charge-sheet at District & Session Court Yupia against 19 individuals involved in the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) job scam, informed Superintendent of Police, SIC- M Harsha Vardhan.
Addressing reporters, the SP disclosed that SIC has registered two cases related to LDC & UDC examinations under APSSB. In the process of investigation at least 19 individuals have been arrested namely Kapter Ringu, Yebi Ringu, Tane Yasum, Yapi Godak, Yamak Dui, Taba Kutung, Taba Rinyo, Surojit Das, Sultana Nasren Banu, Mosmi Dui, Senia Bagang, Mongam Basar, Khemraj Upadhaya, Jumcha Lamaty, Kenjum Lendo, Tame Tania, Tame Nacham and Tai Api.
"We have conducted the investigation thoroughly in this case; even four of the accused have willingly agreed under the provided section of the law to cooperate with the SIC on condition that they will get pardon from the court. Forgery and criminal conspiracy under IPC against Government officials and Prevention of Corruption Act under Act 7, 7A,8,12, 13(1)B has been imposed against all the candidates," added the SP-SIC.
When asked about other higher officials involved in the scam, Harsha Vardhan said "During the investigation no criminal conspiracy or other activities has been found against other officials be it an IAS or APCS official of the Board. Even the main accused including other accused have said nothing about the involvement of other officials from the APSSB."
The SIC also informed of a supplementary charge-sheet related to the case as there is more evidence such as electronic devices yet to come from – CFSL, Chandigarh.
"We have extracted deleted mobile data which has given us vital clues. Moreover, there are still some more candidates who remain under investigation, so SIC will submit the supplementary charge-sheet soon," the SP said.
Based on the latest evidence total of four people have been arrested related to UDC examination scam and the recent arrest was of one Moli Basar. Not getting cooperation from the accused, we had to arrest him for further interrogation, added the top cop.
Responding to query on the high level two-member committee report, SP informed that the report indicated that there was also some misconduct in the UDC examination.
