ITANAGAR, Sep 24: Following the decision by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Ministry of Communications for spreading awareness about the free legal aid services to the masses in collaboration with Post Offices, the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority held a meeting with the Postal Division at Itanagar to discuss on the collaborative project.
The meeting was attended among other by Jaweplu Chai, Member Secretary, APSLSA, Kasi Dai, Assistant, Nani Modi, Legal Aid Counsel and Manik Lal Das, Assistant Superintendent, Postal Division,Itanagar
During the meeting, Chai briefed about the project and the important role Post Offices could play in making the access to justice  a reality through its offices across the state with  one Head Post Office, 49 sub-post offices and 253 branch-post offices.
The meeting had also extensive discussions about the possibilities of effective & smooth implementation of the collaborative project, along with action plan, strategies, responsibilities & timelines of the project etc to sensitize the officials and the staffers of the Postal Department about the objectives of the project and the working of the Legal Services Authorities after signing of the MoU soon.
