Indian Army conducts ‘Know Your Army’ outreach
MECHUKA, Feb 13: Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), West Siang jointly organised a two-day legal literacy-cum-training programme for the Gaon Burahs and Burihs of Shi-Yomi district here on February11-12.
The training programme was part of the “Synergy between Customary Practices and Formal Laws” initiative of the Department of Justice, Union Ministry of Law & Justice under ‘Access to Justice North-East and Jammu and Kashmir’ project. A total of 46 participants from various remote villages of the district took part in the training.
Member Secretary, APSLSA Jaweplu Chai sensitised the participants about their role in justice delivery system at the grassroots level.
During the technical session, GBs were made aware of various legal provisions.
The GBs also put forward queries and suggestions on their role and functions.
