Itanagar, Oct 10: Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) on Saturday observed the World Mental Health Day through a webinar on ‘mental healthcare’ for legal aid counsels, para legal volunteers, CWC, JJB members and other stakeholders of the state.
The chief objective of the webinar was to raise awareness on mental health issues in the light of Covid-19 pandemic and mobilize efforts in support of mental health. Mental health experts from West Bengal, Mumbai and Manipur took sessions on mental healthcare and sensitized the participants on related issues. APSLSA’s Project Consultant Marie Riba, Member Secretary Jaweplu Chai, Consultant Clinical Psychologist from West Bengal Parmeet Soni spoke on the occasion. Cinematographer and documentary filmmaker from Mumbai Ajay Noronha who is now a Social Life Coach gave awareness on the topic ‘Coach for mental health recovery’. Senior Resident-Psychiatry, RIMS, Imphal Dr. Asheema Haobijam spoke about the social taboo and stigma associated with visiting a psychiatrist and discussed the positive side of seeking counsel.
