ITANAGAR, Feb 3: Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) has condemned the two recent cases of crime against women where a 26-year old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband Sani Taye in Namsai district and a 23-year old girl was attacked in Nirjuli on January 24 by one Riya Tabing.
While lauding the prompt action of the SPs of Namsai and Capital Complex that led to the arrest of the accused in both the cases, the Commission has requested them for early submission of charge sheets so that justice may be delivered to the victims and their families. Besides taking suo moto cognizance of the cases, it has sought their status reports. Expressing concern over the increase of crime against women and girls in the state, APSCW has urged the concerned authorities to take the matter seriously.
It has also requested people from all walks of life to cooperate with the police and support investigation in all such cases.
