ITANAGAR, Sep 26: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW), has expressed deep anguish over the derogatory comment passed by one Akhilesh Pratap Singh of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh towards an Arunachalee woman, Toko Sheetal. 
The Commission has requested the Superintendent of Police, Capital Complex, Itanagar to take necessary action to safeguard the dignity of an Arunachalee women. The APSCW also requested the Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Women to take Suo Moto Cognizance against Akhilesh Pratap Singh for outraging the modesty of a woman. 
"The Commission is very concerned over the increasing crime against women and girl child and such comments are grave concern towards the safety and security of our women staying in other states," APSCW Chairperson, Kenjum Pakam said.
The Commission further appealed the general public not to take the law in their hands and maintain peace and tranquility so that the concerned authority may process fair and unbiased investigation of the case.
