NAHARLAGUN, Oct 17: The grand finale and valedictory function of the three-day state level Red Ribbon Quiz Competition organized by the Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS) under Directorate of Health Services concluded today here at a private hotel.
Altogether 22 colleges and universities took part in the competition which was inaugurated on October 15 by Director of Health Services, Dr. M. Lego and SLO, NSS, Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Dr. A. K. Mishra. Director, Family Welfare, Dr. Emi Rumi was the Chief Guest on the concluding day.
Dy. Director (IEC) APSACS, Tashor Pali presented a detailed report of the competition. Project Director, APSACS Dr. Riken Rina while congratulating the winners informed that the State's HIV prevalence is 0.06 % with 456 cumulative cases as on September 2020 and stressed on the role of youths in imparting correct knowledge on HIV/AIDS to society.
Milli Bharat and Tai Gunia from Government College Doimukh won the competition with a cash prize of Rs 20,000. Tapi Tony and Dug Niting of Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Polytechnic College were adjudged the 1st runners-up with a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and Ayan Serfiroz Haque and Arsis Sharma of NERIST were adjudged the 2nd runners-up with a cash prize of Rs 10,000. All the winners were also awarded with certificates and mementos.
The winners will now represent Arunachal Pradesh in the regional level quiz competition organized by the National AIDS Control Organisation, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. APSACS PR
