Special sitting arrangement for Covid positive examinees

Yupia, Oct 6: A meeting to review the preparedness for smooth conduct of the APPSCCE 2020 Preliminary exam scheduled on November 1 next in Papum Pare district was convened here on Tuesday wherein all the Heads of Institutions of exam centres, police and officials from the Health and Education departments participated.   
Chairing the meeting Deputy Commissioner Pige Ligu called upon all the stakeholders to gear up preparations with missionary zeal and meticulous planning to conduct the exam in an impartial and transparent manner. All the guidelines issued by the APPSC were discussed and keeping in view of the current pandemic situation, precautionary measures for allowing COVID-19 positive candidates were also deliberated at length. DC directed all the Heads of Institutions to make adequate arrangements as per COVID-19 SOPs and keep ready isolation rooms at each centre for such candidates and perform compulsory thermal scanning as preventive measures. He also opined that if possible the Commission should issue a communiqué for such candidates who wish to write the exam to make a declaration through online mode about their Covid status in advance before  the exam so that the concerned authority can take adequate precautionary measures. The Health department was also directed to keep ready a medical team with ambulances, emergency kits and deploy sufficient staff for thermal screening of candidates at each exam centre. The Nodal Officer, Exam was instructed to prepare a contingency plan to mitigate any unforeseen situation for smooth conduct of the exam.
DC reviewed the preparatory arrangements made by the respective Heads of Institutions of exam centres namely RGU, Government College Doimukh, Government Higher Secondary School, Doimukh and Don Bosco School, Nonpu and representatives of the centres apprised him about their arrangements and  logistic needs from the District Administration. SP Papum Pare Jimmy Chiram briefed the house about the overall security arrangements  and informed that adequate manpower will be pressed into service on the day of exam to ensure full-proof security coverage. Earlier, Nodal Officer, Exam  Dolma Wangjom, EAC informed that as per APPSC, 1410 candidates are expected to sit for the exam at four exam centres in Papum Pare district.  
ADC Tabang Bodung, APPSC Deputy Secretary Bate Koyu,  Principals of the respective institutions where the exam is going to be conducted and representatives from DDSE were among others who attended the meeting. DIPRO
