PASIGHAT, Mar 17: As per direction of the BEE (Bureau of Energy efficiency), Ministry of Power, GoI, East Siang APEDA organized an awareness cum training program on electrical appliances under standard and labeling program of BEE, at Pasighat on March 14 last. The retailers, dealers, business personalities, engineers from power, hydropower development, Pasighat municipal council and officers from health department of East Siang district were participated in the programme.
Addressing the house, APEDA Project Officer Er. Kape Badak briefed about energy conservation. According to him the main motive of the training programme was to generate awareness and sensitise the retailers/dealers regarding energy conservation. Badak stressed on the significance of energy efficient appliances, in order to make general power consumers aware of the importance of energy conservation. He appealed all to use energy efficient electrical appliances adding that by reducing consumption, people should be made aware of their responsibilities. Badak informed that concerned inspecting officer is expected to visit market areas shortly in the district and therefore dealers and retailers of electrical appliances should ensure the star labeling on appliances and technical authenticity.
Dr. (Mrs) N. Ninu, (Retired DDHS) gracing the occasion as special guest delivered lecture and appealed all the participants to gain knowledge on standard and labeling of electrical appliances and to spread the awareness among the public.
Technical session on standard and labeling programme of BEE was dealt by Satvinder Singh, Energy Auditor M/s Pranat Engineers Delhi as a resource person and JE, APEDA Pasighat Er. Matin Tamuk junior Engineer also spoke on the occasion.
