ITANAGAR, Aug 12: The Arunachal Pradesh Consumer's Cooperative Federation Limited today broke its silence on the matter relating to the death of one of its officials.
Taking strong exception to the repeated press coverage of allegation leveled against its Managing Director, the Chairman of APCCF Ltd, Toko Kach on Wednesday denied any wrongdoing either by the MD or  the organization in the unfortunate demise of late Tadu Obey, who served as Deputy Manager of the said organization.
In a release, Kach clarified that he had issued the voluntary retirement from service (VRS) letter following a recommendation by the Board of Directors to seven employees. It is not binding upon an employee to accept the offer and they turned it down, he added.
" I accepted their 'Decline Letter'  and the issue of VRS was a closed chapter as on June 23, 2020, and therefore linking her unfortunate demise to workplace harassment is unfounded and baseless. Therefore, question of suspension or any such disciplinary action doesn't arise," the Chairman said.
He also categorically rejected all reports published in print, digital, and social media pertaining to the demise of the Deputy Manager.
“Individuals and organizations alleging workplace harassment must come up with specific charges and instance or else, sweeping defamatory statement in media must stop which otherwise is lowering the image and the reputation of APCCF Limited and its MD,” the Chairman said urging concerned citizens to look into the medical records of the deceased.

Kach further said that they are cooperating with the police who is conducting initial investigation into the complaint lodged by the deceased's brother and have also met the SP capital complex and SP SIT in this regard.
“I expect media to be factual and unbiased, and as Chairman of the much maligned APCCF Limited would request them to be careful in carrying derogatory and insinuating 'adjectives' in this case and to judiciously deploy 'editorial discretion' in their choice of words which otherwise would leave us with no choice but to seek legal recourse," the Chairman said.
