ITANAGAR, Feb 2: The Labour Cell of Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has alleged that prolonged negligence by the state government has turned Vivek Vihar approach road, the important thoroughfare in the heart of the capital into a dustbin.
Through a press release issued today, the Cell’s Chairman Yangbui Takik while claiming that the road has totally collapsed posing serious threat to the commuters, also questioned the sincerity of the BJP-led state government. “The state government has very often been claiming that road connectivity is its top priority and Swacch Bharat Abhiyan its pet campaign. Is the spot not mocking all these claims and amounting to take the capital dwellers for a ride?” Takik asked.
While urging the Planning Department and the PWD Chief Engineer (Western Zone) to include necessary renovation works of the road in the current accounting year, he reminded the IMC that it’s their responsibility to clean the area so that visitors do not go back with a wrong impression of the state and its capital.
When the BJP is ruling at the Centre as well as in the state, the situation instead of improving is deteriorating day by day, the APCC Labour Cell Chairman observed, expressing shock along with that despite release of Central funds, on-ground works are not visible.
