ITANAGAR, Nov 9:The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Thursday sought the Governor’s intervention on burning issues like the Chakma & Hajong, newly adopted Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy (TRP), increasing law & order problem in the State etc.

Strongly opposing the granting of citizenship to Chakma & Hajong, the APCC while endorsing the AAPSU movement has urged the Governor to pursue the matter with the Centre to re-constitute the High Power Committee which was constituted during UPA Government to review the refugee issue.

Over the TRP issue, the APCC requested Governor Mishra to direct the concern authority not to issue new trading license to Tibetans doing business in various pockets of the state. However it agreed to renewal of license of Tibetans living in old designated camps at Tenzing Gaon, Tezu and Miao-Bordumsa.

It also requested the Governor to direct the state government to recruit only Monpa and Sherdukpen teachers to teach “Bhoti” language in Tawang and West Kameng Districts.

“The Congress party is not against introduction of Bhoti as the 3rd language among the Monpa and Sherdukpen. But recruitment of Bhoti teachers should be done from the two communities and no refugees must be allowed to avail the benefit of it,” it added.

The APCC also drew his attention towards fake recruitment racket of 300 MPWs in the health department and urged him to constitute a separate SIT to investigate the multi-crore fake appointment scam.

It also requested the Governor to initiate measures to check the deteriorating law & order situation in the state, the APCC while blaming the BJP government for the state of affairs.

Furthermore referring to a letter written by former Chief Secretary Shakuntala D Gamlin to Finance Commissioner Ashish Kundra over embezzlement of funds through composite sanction, the APCC urged him to initiate probe to unearth conspiracies behind the high profile scam.
