KHONSA, Oct 18: As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the Anti-Drugs Squad of Tirap Police in continuation of its war against drug abuse and peddling in the district arrested two drug peddlers and seized suspected heroine from their possession.
Based on specific intelligence report, the Squad arrested one Wangpan of Tirap and one Lama of Dibrugarh during a raid.
Intermediate quantity of approximately 8 grams of suspected heroine was seized from their possession and a case under NDPS act has been registered against them vide KSA PS C/No.39/20 u/s 21(b) NDPS Act 1985.
Superintendent of Police, Kardak Riba citing the demand and supply theory once again urged the youths of Tirap District not to consume drugs such as kaani and brown sugar.
Further, the SP congratulated the Anti-Drugs Squad and warned peddlers that such raids and arrests will continue to make Tirap a drug free district. DIPRO
