DOIMUKH, Jul 5:  Continuing its fight against  drugs, Papum Pare Police arrested six persons including a woman who is believed to be one of the main drug suppliers and financiers in the Itanagar Capital Region on Sunday.
The arrested persons have been identified as Suraj Kengal( 22), Nima Wangchu,(37), Horjum Doke (28), Takar Kabak (26), Naren Chetry (28) and  Yayi Lendo Jomoh (37).  A case DMK/ PS Case No. 34/21, U/S 21(b)/27(A)/29 NDPS Act has been registered against them.
Speaking to media, SDPO Doimukh, Bomken Basar informed that, a police team had received input on July 4, that two persons are bringing suspected narcotics from Kanubari to the Itanagar Capital Region in a government vehicle.
Upon receiving the information, SP Papum Pare Dr. Neelam Nega immediately formed a team led by  SDPO Doimukh, Inya Ete, OC PS Doimukh, SI Niri Rama, SI Nabam Tate and team. The vehicle was intercepted at Gumto gate and two persons were apprehended who were identified as  Suraj Kengal and  Nima Wangchu, the driver of the government vehicle.
Search was conducted on the spot in presence of Magistrate and independent witness and four packets of suspected Heroin weighing 41.35 gm was recovered from the vehicle.
SDPO also disclosed that, during the preliminary interrogation both the accused revealed  that they  brought the suspected Heroin on direction from one Yayi Lendo Jomoh from Kanubari and three packets were to be delivered to her brother along with two  more persons at "6-Kilo", a place between Itanagar and Naharlagun and one  packet to be delivered to Yayi Lendo Jomoh at her apartment at Abotani Colony, Itanagar.
In view of the involvement of more people, SP Papum Pare sought assistance  from SP capital Jimmy Chiram and  laid a trap at 6-Kilo and arrested three more persons namely,  Horjum Doke,  Takar Kabak, and  Naren Chetry.Further, the team proceeded to the apartment of Yai Lendo Jomoh along with the magistrate. Upon search of her house, 184 empty vials suspected to be used for selling drugs and cash Rs 52,000 suspected to be proceeds from drug sales were recovered among other things.
Primary interrogation revealed that Yayi Lendo Jomoh is one of the main drug suppliers and financiers in the Itanagar Capital Region. She engaged her cook Suraj Kengal and handed over Rs 1,00,000 to him and asked him to accompany Nima Wangchu. It is revealed that Nima Wangchu is a government driver working in the Secretariat and attached to Secretary, Department of Indigenous Affairs. Nima Wangchu and Suraj used the government vehicle (Scorpio) to purchase four packets of suspected Heroin from Kanubari.
