TAWANG, Apr 19: Chief Minister Pema Khandu today attended the inaugural function of the annual conference of Superintendents of Police, Commandants of AAP Bn and IRBn as chief guest which commenced today here at the Kalawangpo Convention Hall.
Khandu expressed satisfaction on the Vision Document prepared by the Home Department which is the outcome of the last annual conference. While stating that the focus of the conference will be to explore ways in strengthening the state police, the CM reiterated that priority will be on tackling drug menace. “Government will be issuing a notification soon asking all state government employees to disclose their drug addiction history, if any to their senior officers after which a deadline will be given to relinquish the affinity. However, if any government employee is still found to be addicted after the deadline, he/she will have to face legal actions,” Khandu warned. He further instructed the SPs to coordinate with the local public representatives, eminent personalities and DCs of their respective district to create awareness on drug menace.
MLA-cum-Adviser to Home Minister Nyamar Karbak, MLA-cum-advisor Tourism, IPR Laisam Simai, Secretary Home R.Verma other senior officers of APP attended the conference. 
Congratulating the state government for modernizing APP, Karbak opined that the healthy coordination between IPS and APPS officers must continue for the betterment of the department. The IPS officers after completing their tenure in Arunachal should work as ambassadors of the state, he added. Simai expressed satisfaction over the special focus on TCL region given by the Home department in their Vision Document.
