ITANAGAR, Mar 23: To take stock of Covid-19 preparedness in Arunachal Pradesh at a time when the national figures of those being infected had touched 415 along with 8 deaths, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Monday convened an emergency meeting before onset of the state lockdown.
The meeting was attended by Health Minister Alo Libang, Home Minister Bamang Felix, Principal Secretary Finance A.C. Verma, Commissioner Planning P.S. Lokhande, Secretary Finance Y.W. Ringu, Secretary Planning Himanshu Gupta, Secretary Health P. Parthiban, Director TRHIMS Dr M. Jini, Chief Medical Officer TRHIMS Hage Ambing and State Epidemiologist Dr.L. Jampa. 
While stating that community-based measures and close monitoring of the situation in state over next few days will be crucial in containing the spread of the deadly virus, he added that people’s collaborative participation all across the districts in the ensuing lockdown will be equally important. DCM gave assurance that all support will be provided to the health department in carrying out coronavirus containment activities and instructed the officers of the Planning and Finance departments to clear all files related to the Health department without delay so that preventive measures can be implemented seamlessly. 
Appealing the state’s citizens not to panic during the lockdown which will continue till March 31 midnight, Mein asked them to follow the instructions relating to the preventive measures issued by the state government, adding that central government is also closely monitoring the situation in every state.
Libang assured that all possible preventive measures to contain the spread of coronavirus are being taken by the state and doctors, nurses and health workers are working round the clock to monitor the situation. Felix informed he is constantly monitoring the situation and assured the citizens of all possible assistance to create mass awareness regarding the pandemic.
The meeting also discussed the issues of mandatory screening and monitoring of people coming to the state from other parts of the country, setting up of isolation wards, arrangement of medical volunteers, stocking up of essential commodities, testing centres, logistics and setting up of control rooms at both district and state levels.
