Ziro, Jan 17: A high level team comprising of Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Prodeep Singh Kharola, Ms Usha Padhee, Jt. Secretary , MoCA, State's Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, and representatives of Airports Authority of India and Directorate General of Civil Aviation visited Ziro to inspect and workout the modalities for operationalization of the civilian terminal at the Advanced Landing Ground, Ziro.
The team discussed the roadmap for starting the 19-seater Dornier at the ALG Ziro by using the existing infrastructure. Accordingly the Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan was directed to complete the refurbishing work by 31st March.
Further the team also directed the Deputy Commissioner to acquire the land required for the establishment of the permanent Civil Terminal adjacent to the ALG by 31st March.
It was also decided to establish an observation tower at Potin to facilitate weather clearance.
The team further discussed issues pertaining to the security of the ALG, approach road to the civil terminal, drainage around the ALG and land acquisition for the permanent civil terminal.
