Yupia, Feb 18: Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare Minga Sherpa, released a local audio album on ‘The Good Driver’ created by the Department of District Transport, Yupia as a part of National Road Safety month and traffic awareness programme.
Sherpa appreciated the initiative of District Transport Officer, Yupia for coming up with innovative way to create awareness on road safety measures and said that it will go a long way in creating awareness on road safety measures among local denizens. He added that the district administration will always support and welcome all kinds of innovative ideas and suggestions by the Head of Departments. He also spoke on importance of road safety measures and need for creating awareness among youths.
The Deputy Commissioner also felicitated the Composer Ha Nayung, Singer Puji Johny and Rapper Marki Tadang who were instrumental in creating the album.
District Transport Officer, Yajum Lombi Yumlam also expressed gratitude to the district administration for the support and co-operation in successful launching of local audio album and informed that idea of making album in local Nyishi language is to draw maximum attention of local people towards road safety and safe driving which are very important to reduce the road mishaps.DIPRO
