3rd Bharat Lok Sangeet Arunachal Utsav connects with youth
ITANAGAR, Oct 30: A 20 member contingent of the Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum (AITF) comprising the representatives of the community based organizations of the state led by its President, Bengia Tolum submitted another memorandum to the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh today at Raj Bhawan in continuation to its earlier memorandum on the infamous Potin-Pangin Trans-Arunachal Highway compensation scam.
The AITF in a release informed that Governor BD Mishra has assured to take-up the matter with appropriate authorities for follow-up action.
The team pleaded the Governor to ensure immediate construction of the road as the innocent people cannot be deprived of road connectivity for no fault of theirs and prosecute the handful of culprits with befitting action.
During the course of discussion, the Governor expressed his deep concern regarding the reported encroachment of 64 acres of land allotted to Rajiv Gandhi University.
He urged the AITF delegation especially the representatives Nyishi Elite Society (NES) to regain the land for the highest institution of learning in the state.
Mishra also exhorted the AITF team to interact with the Vice Chancellor to get a first-hand information to draw an action plan.
Meanwhile, an executive team from Nyishi Elite Society (NES) on Sunday visited Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein at his office chamber and highlighted the issue of TAH compensation scam including the report furnished by Fact-finding committee.
After the patient hearing, Mein informed that soon he will hold a joint meeting involving all the concerned authorities to hammer out remedial measures regarding early start of the construction of TAH. Taking the opportunity, the visiting also apprised Dy. CM about the need for reconstruction of Talo Secondary School which was devoured by a massive fire on October 7 last, the establishment of women police training college at Yachuli, Sainik School at Dollungmukh etc.
