Tawang, Oct 13: Itanagar based Arunachal Hindi Sansthan today organized a programme titled ‘Hindi Ko Salaam’ here at Kalawangpo Convention Hall to highlight the importance of Hindi language as a dialect of communication in Arunachal’s linguistic context.
MLA Jambey Tashi was the Chief Guest and Principal Advisor to Chief Minister & Chief Advisor of Arunachal Hindi Sansthan, Tai Tagak was the Guest of Honour. Many distinguished guests from the state capital and students from various schools of Tawang, Dorjee Khandu Government College and general public attended the programme.
Chairman, Arunachal Hindi Sansthan, Takam Sonia said that Arunachal Pradesh being a diverse state with 26 major tribes and hundreds of sub-tribes each speaking their own dialect lacked a common language of its own and Hindi has effectively filled the vacuum. While highlighting the need for promotion of Hindi, he also stressed on preservation and use of native languages/dialects of the state. Tagak in his address said that Hindi acts as a vehicle for national integration and asked the students to use the language in their daily life with pride. Lumla MLA opined that like most developed countries which use their national language during international engagements, India similarly can use Hindi, adding that Arunachalees have accepted Hindi with pride and use it as the principal medium of communication.
The programme included poem recitations, singing of patriotic songs, presentations on conservation of environment and water etc. It is worth recalling that Arunachal Hindi Sansthan started working in 1994 under the initiatives of then Governor of the state Mata Prasad. DIPRO
