ITANAGAR, Aug 25:  Donning  black t-shirts, the aggrieved candidates who had appeared for the examination conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board observed “Black day” as part of its state-wide silent protest organized by the Interim Committee for Justice and Reformation (ICJR) on the APSSB scam today, including in front of the State Civil Secretariat complex in the state capital.
Expressing anguish over the delay being meted out by the inquiry committee, Legal Adviser-ICJR, Advocate SD Loda informed that the committee has been compelled to call such democratic movement against the state government for its failure to come clean on the APSSB ‘cash-for-job scam’ despite repeated assurances even from the Chief Minister himself. “The Chief Minister categorically stated that within 21 days the report of the scam would be made public. But months have passed and till date no report has arrived,” Loda rued.
While informing that all like-minded youths in different districts have joined the protest against the prevailing corruption and money culture in state government institutions, the Legal Adviser reiterated ICJR’s demand for release of the Inquiry Committee report, termination of all former officers and officials of the APSSB and cancellation and retaking of the UDC examination.
“The fight is not over a single incident, but for ensuring protection of the future generation from such cash-for-job scams,” Adviser-ICJR Debia Muj said. “If APSSB is the pet project of the state government, then why the Chief Minister is not revealing the Inquiry Report?,” Muj questioned, recalling the CM’s assurance of releasing the findings within the 21-day period.
