ITANAGAR, Mar 2: The Arunachal Wushu Association in association with the Directorate of Sports felicitated medal winners at the International Wushu Championship held at Moscow, Russia held from February 22-28.

Mepung Lamgu from Seppa won 2 gold in Taijiquan & Taijijian , Nyeman Wangsu from Kanubari won a gold and silver in Daoshu & Changquan, Dani Nuri from Ziro won one gold and silver, Taug Ama from Damin won a gold in 60kg, Yorna Rosni from Boasimla won one silver & a bronze in dual event & spear and Bamang Ampa from Kurung Kumey won a silver in 52kg. 

The grand felicitation programme was facilitated by well wishers from different communities of the state including All Nyishi Students Union, Lamgu Welfare Society,  Apatani women welfare society, Kago Bida Foundation Ziro, Hija Officers Association, Hija Welfare Association Capital Complex, Defense Club Ziro, Giah Ku Welfare Society, Murh Hatey Academic development youth wing department, Hemi Ajin Sobam welfare Group, Wancho welfare society Itanagar.

All Arunachal Pradesh Wushu Association, President, Toko Teki expressed his great happiness and satisfaction at the great performance shown by the Arunachal Wushu athletes in a mega international event. 

He also congratulated Sangey Lhaden Sports Aacdemy's Wushu Coach Maibam Premchandra for his hard work. Teki also advised to get ready for the upcoming Asian Games.

Director Sports, Tadar Appa also congratulated the medal winners and assured to provide the basic requirements for the further development of the sport. Appa also congratulated Coach Maibam Premchandra for his sincere efforts and termed him the 'man behind the gradual development of Wushu  in the state.'
