AALO, Nov 26: Paya village in West Siang district which is considered to be a potential adventure tourism destination due to its perfect combination of scenic hill tops and river banks, returned back to business on November 24-25 after a long gap.
During these two days, paragliders engaged themselves in adventure sports which remained halted for a long period due to the Covid pandemic. Few years back, a motor boat was provided to the villagers by the Village Tourist Development Committee to sail along the banks of Yomgo river at a yearly nominal fee to the Department of Tourism.
District Tourism Development Officer T. Kopak sounded optimistic regarding the prospects of adventure tourism in West Siang through infrastructure creation and government support. DIPRO
