Observing that incidences of road rage is a major cause of law and order situation in the capital complex, the District Administration along with the Police would be conducting Naka checking at various locations of the Capital Complex alternately at least thrice a week. The step has been necessitated in light of the recent incidents most of which have been vehicular accidents due to the negligence of the driver.

In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex, Prince Dhawan vide an executive order has directed the Superintendent of Police Itanagar Capital Complex to make urgent arrangement to conduct the checking.

The identified locations at Itanagar are Gohpur Tinali, Ganga opposite to RK Mission Post Office, 6km Mithun Gate and Niti Vihar Tinali, Itanagar. In Naharlagun, the locations are Bage Tinali, Kankar Nallah and Yupia Tri Junction.  

During the checking, the DC has directed the police to check thoroughly triple carrying, drunken driving, under aged drivers, riding without helmet, registration no and plate, valid insurance, any other offence as specified in the MV Act etc and to initiate strict penal action against any defaulters found violating the legal provisions including action to impound defaulter vehicles.

The DC has also directed to conduct regular night patrolling to keep strict vigil on anti- social elements.
