BANDERDEWA, Jul 27: The Additional District Magistrate and Chief Estate Officer Talo Potom on Monday informed that he has shifted Data Entry Operators (DEOs) updating daily Covid-19 records along with the team deputed to collect swab samples of truckers outside the main entrance of the Banderdewa check gate.
The decision was taken after the locals of Karsingsa held a protest in the morning requesting the authority to relocate the DEOs recently shifted under the office premises of the Circle Officer, Banderdewa to places away from residential areas. The team of DEOs earlier stationed at Hollongi was recently shifted to Banderdewa after the movement of truckers was diverted through this gate as per the new SOPs.
"I have noted the grievances of the locals and shifted the staffers by erecting separate counters adjacent to the team assigned to collect swab samples outside the main entry of the Banderdewa check gate," the ADM divulged. He further pointed out that shifting the DEOs to a common location along with the swab sample collectors will not only enable safe and faster collection of samples, but also allow faster data entry.
"Two positive cases were detected today during the daylong drive. The duo have been shifted to the CCC by the police team,”Potom revealed, adding that more than 200 vehicles were examined throughout the day.
He also requested the commuters from Lower Subansiri, Koloriang and Palin, especially from the rural areas of Papum Pare planning to visit the state capital to take the route via Gumto check gate to avert unnecessary overcrowding at the Banderdawa check gate.
