ITANAGAR, Aug 3:Governor PB Acharya today appreciated the Arunachal Voluntary Blood Donation Organisation (AVBDO) for successfully organising the voluntary blood donation camp at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.
 
Felicitating every member and convey his best wishes for its future endeavours, the Governor said that since its inception, the AVBDO, with its 1000 plus dedicated volunteers comprising mainly of students has conducted sixty one (61) camps and collected around 84,686 units of blood so far, saving many precious lives and brought relief and happiness to numerous helpless and needy families. 
 
It is due to the benevolent and valued services of this organization, that the State of Arunachal Pradesh has been honoured with ‘Award of Excellence’ by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India for working towards 100% Voluntary Blood Donation, he added.
 
In appreciation some used office furniture from the Governor’s Secretariat were provided to the Non-Governmental Organisation.
 
The Deputy Secretary to Governor Minik Damin handed over the office items to Ramesh Jeke, Chairman, AVBDO at Raj Bhavan today.
