ITANAGAR, Dec 18: At least four rented rooms (SPT), four shops were gutted in fire mishap today at Chimpu.
The incident occurred around 9 am from one of the houses and engulfed the whole rented rooms within a few minutes. Properties worth lakhs were lost in the inferno including a two-wheeler. However, no casualties were reported.
“We have lost everything, we have nothing to wear or eat," shared a victim. Criticizing the fire & emergency service for its late response, he also urged the government to increase Fire Station in the capital region so that such incidents can be averted on time.
The accomodations belonged to one Tadar Simi, informed Police. An Anganwadi center has also been damaged in the inferno. The reason for the mishap is yet to be ascertained but it could be due to a short-circuit, added Police.
