MARIYANG, May 10: As part of the ongoing state-wide Arunachal Airgun Surrender Abhiyaan (AASA), 115 airguns were voluntarily surrendered by the villagers of Padu Adi-Pasi, Sibuk, Sikko Bine, Mopom Damro, New Millang, Millang, Koliung and Dalbing under Mariyang sub-division in Upper Siang district to the Forest Department, Yingkiong in a small function today organised here at the ADC office.
ADC Mariyang Dr Manjuli Komut, EAC Khoda Lasa, ZPM Mariyang Bojing Bitin, ZPM Mopom Nano Moyong, Forester Kabit Jonkey and others were present on the occasion.
The ADC while appreciating the gesture shown by the inhabitants of the sub-division appealed to all airgun owners to join the drive. Active support that came from GBs, ZPMs and panchayat leaders has also been appreciated by the Mariyang administration.
