ITANAGAR, Feb 6: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) in a release has welcomed the proposed visit of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to the state on February 9 to inaugurate various development projects.
In the meantime, it drew his attention towards the dilapidated infrastructure of educational institutes in the State constructed during NEFA era which now needs immediate renovation and replacement.
The AAPSU hoped that apart from inaugurating the much-sought Airport at Hollongi, many issues such as Rajiv Gandhi University Doimukh, NIT, and NERIST will be also looked into.
“The issue of NIT has been lingering since long for  appointment of regular director and other officials as well as infrastructure development,” it added.
It also called for the creation of separate IAS cadre for the State while citing that mostly IAS officers serving in the State are from AGMUT and come to serve just for two or three years which hampers the long term vision of the government
Further AAPSU sought PM's intervention in the issues such as Chakma Hajong Issue, and  Interstate boundary and demarcation.
