ITANAGAR, Jul 13: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) today visited Laptap village to take stock of the situation after 14 lives were lost in a landslide.

The team met the villagers and bereaved family and observed two minutes silence for the departed souls. In his condolence message, AAPSU President Hawa Bagang consoled thefamily and appealed the villagers to take precautions. ‘We have never witnesses such devastating incident by landslide and theentire people of the state are with you at this moment,’ he said while appealing the people of Toru circle and Laptap village not to panic andmaintain calm as this was an unfortunate case of natural calamity.

The Union also met the National Disaster Reinforcement Force (NDRF) team and thanked them for their support to the villagers. The AAPSUalso called on the Sushee/IVCRL and apprised them to help the affected Tana family victims for their immediate rehabilitation and otherrequirements.

The Union also appealed the state government to aid the family as per government’s policy.
