Retirement Age Backlash

ITANAGAR, Jun 27:In the wake of state government decision to enhance retirement age from 58 to 60 years, the All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has decided to convene an emergency meeting of its central executive memberson Wednesday to take stock of the development and to decide upon its future course of action.

Terming the decision ‘regressive’ and is not in sync with its oft repeated propagation for job avenues to the younger generation, the Union opined that it will create more unemployment in the state.

The development is unfortunate and will usher in an era of stagnation that will have far reaching ramifications in the long run. The unfortunate decision has discredited the government and brought down its image in the eyes of students’ community, the AAPSU said in a release.

--Sulking CoSAAP to go ahead with stir

ITANAGAR, Jun 27:While welcoming the increase in minimum retirement age to 60 years, the confederation of service association of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) however has resented the date of its implementation which is from year 2018.

In an emergency meeting convened today, it has resolved to go ahead with its 3rd phase non-cooperation movement in the form of indefinite pen and tools down agitation from June 28 next, if government fails to implement the decision with immediate effect.

The house also raised questions over the provisions being made for the employees who are retiring between June to December this year and accused the government for adopting discriminatory approach to divide the employees.

Later, the members also reiterated demands for restoration of Medical Attendance Rule simultaneously and immediate modification in NOC system as per suggestion given by the Chief Secretary Office on October last.
