ITANAGAR, Sep 7: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) while strongly condemning the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s “Arunachal is South Tibet” claim, has asked the Chinese government and the Communist Party of China to refrain from such notoriety.
In a press release issued on Monday, AAPSU while asserting that the people of Arunachal Pradesh are proud Indians and staunch nationalists, made it clear that no recognition or validation from a foreign entity is necessary in this regard. “Instead of issuing misleading statements, the Chinese government should direct its armed forces to immediately release the 5 civilians of Nacho area in Upper Subansiri district who were abducted by PLA soldiers recently,” the release said. “Denials by our own government on earlier occasions followed by weak responses to such recurring incidents have greatly emboldened the Chinese forces,” the union observed, adding that safety and security of the life and property of people living in border areas should be ensured at all costs.
Stating that there should be a strong deterrent against such recurring mischiefs along the LAC, AAPSU has also demanded an intervention by the Prime Minister himself for ensuring safe and early release of the five innocent civilians from the Chinese custody. AAPSU PR
