ITANAGAR, Feb 5: All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union will seek appointment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Citizenship Amendment Bill during his scheduled visit to Itanagar, informed General Secretary AAPSU, Tobom Dai.
Team of AAPSU and North East Students Organization is meeting all the top political parties of the country seeking their support not to support the controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill.
"Few AAPSU and NESO members are still in the national capital as we are supposed to meet more leaders regarding the bill," added Dai while informing that AAPSU is very much willing to meet the Prime Minister and express the grievances and concern over the bill.
"CAB is one of the major issues that will demographically change the entire northeastern states including Arunachal Pradesh. One should not depend on particular organization but should come out from their comfort zone and must show their concern towards the future of the state," added Dai.
Earlier it was expected that the bill would not be placed in this session but as per information , few BJP leaders are coercing it to be placed as supplementary bill in the ongoing Budget session, but for the interest of Northeast we will stand united against this issue, stated Vice President AAPSU, Meje Taku.
Moreover, we have already expressed our concern to Chief Minister Pema Khandu and we are expecting some concrete statement from the CMO on CAB-2016, added Taku.
