ITANAGAR, Nov 21: All Arunachal Pradesh Student's Union (AAPSU) has condemned the repeated incursions and illegalities committed by Forest & Police officials of Assam inside Arunachal Pradesh.
"Saturday's incident wherein DFO Lakhimpur along with Powergrid officials carrying out  survey  inside Kimin sub-division should serve as an eye-opener for the state government, " it said.
While questioning the wisdom of the state government, AAPSU has pertinently asked as to why the state government is seeking Assam's help in executing central programme.
Further, as reported to the union by the locals of Changlang, the forest department of Assam through an order issued by Divisional Forest Officer, Digboi Division Dated 20/09/2021 has been carrying out illegal surveys and other activities in Changlang District for proposed reserved forest under the division inside Arunachal Pradesh. While this said notification has been issued in context of Assam but their entire activities is being carried out inside Arunachal Pradesh right under the nose of the state forest department and the Changlang District Administration.
While urging for peace and tranquility along the inter-state borders and cessation of all forms of illegalities from the Assam government, the Union urged the government of Arunachal Pradesh to take up the matter with its Assam counterpart and the Union government.
Further, it suggested that the much hyped idea of "out-of-Court" settlement by the Chief Minister need to be revisited with such frequent encroachment.
The union reiterated its demand for immediate posting of police & paramilitary personnel along the major conflict areas of the inter-state boundary as a stop-gap arrangement until a final solution is arrived at.
