ITANAGAR, Oct 29: A delegation of All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) led by its President Hawa Bagang and General secretary Tobom Dai today called on Chief secretary Naresh Kumar and submitted a memorandum regarding reservation policy for Persons with Disabilities(PwDs).
The meeting comes in the wake of the All Arunachal PWD candidates informing the apex students body that gross anomalies are being done in their recruitment process and requested the union to take up the matter with the state government.
Apart from the PWD recruitment issue, the delegation also highlighted the non functional status of the lone state university Pasighat since its inception. The foundation stone was laid in the year 2013 by then Chief Minister Nabam Tuki.
The AAPSU delegation requested for immediate appointment of Vice Chancellor,Registrar, teaching faculties and other ministerial staff so that the state university takes off fully and highlighted the plight of thousands of students passing out every year from different colleges in the state but who can't avail further Postgraduate studies owing to limited seats in Rajiv Gandhi University and high fee structure in private run universities in the state.
