ITANAGAR, Oct 4: All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) has threatened to resort to protest rally against non-fulfillment of its demand on October 15 next at Itanagar as its first phase of agitation. The AAPSU has been demanding transfer of Deputy Commissioner Capital Complex Prince Dhawan claiming his involvement in mismanagement of funds under Trans-Arunachal Highway land compensation.
Talking to media persons here today, AAPSU President Hawa Bagang said The ultimatum served to the state government for transfer of capital DC is over but there is no reaction from the authority.'
Justifying their stand,  Bagang asserted that AAPSU has no intention to malign anyone’s career or demand suspension without valid reason.
While responding to a query on AAPSU’s interest on Trans Arunachal Highway, Bagang said besides student issues, AAPSU always stood firm against any kind of corruption in the state.   ‘There will be no change after completion of the present highway as there is no place for parking and even for footpath. The present Highway in the Capital Complex is the world’s smallest highway defying the MoRTH norms. As per its norms it should be 30/30m within the city but the actual measurement of Highway in Itanagar is less than 12/12m’, he said.
There is huge mismanagement in land compensation, alleged the students body and demanded  return of the leftover amount under land compensation to the government and demolition of the structures which are under Right of Way. ‘If government fails to initiate any action, AAPSU will also knock the door of MoRTH as well as Central vigilance department regarding the mismanagement in Highway compensation issue,’ said Bagang.
Besides corruption  issue,  AAPSU along with Northeast Students Organization (NESO) is going to meet Central ministers on various issue like, Citizenship Amendment Bill, Separate Time Zone for Arunachal, separate IAS cadre for Arunachal and others, informed General Secretary, Tobom Dai.
