ITANAGAR, Feb 13: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) today condemned the destruction of boundary demarcation pillars erected by the Miao administration between Neoton village and Dharampur Chakma Settlement area and called it a 'grave provocation'.
The Union in a press release said that it has received reports that the locals are being threatened by the Chakma settlers and there has been largescale encroachment in the area by them. Such illegalities and criminal activities by the refugees are not new and have been going on in other districts as well since the time of their arbitrary settlement in the state. It has also exposed the real face of the Chakma- Hajong refugee community whose representatives in Delhi and elsewhere have been presenting a very negative picture about the state and its people, the AAPSU said. 
The Union added that the latest act is a classic example of the innumerable illegalities which are being carried out by the refugees in the state. The Union Government and the Human Rights Commission should open their eyes and also look into the atrocities faced by the locals, it said.
Terming the recent act as a 'grave provocation', the AAPSU made a strong appeal to both the Union & the State Governments for containing the refugees in their designated/allotted blocks till the time they are deported from the State.
The Changlang District Administration should once again erect the demarcation pillars without any further delay. Voices of the indigenous people have to be heard and the Union will never tolerate repeated attacks on the locals, the AAPSU said.
