ITANAGAR, Jun 11: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has condemned the incident of grenade attack at the official compound of the All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) in Imphal on June 8 last.
In a press release issued today, AAPSU termed the blast as “cowardly attack” against a premier students’ organization of the Northeast which has been tirelessly working for the indigenous people of Manipur since inception. The genuine voice of the student community can never be silenced and such attacks can never serve any purpose and will only strengthen the resolve and zeal of the AMSU to work for the student community of Manipur, the apex students’ union of Arunachal stated. “The attack clearly points out the desperation of the anti-social elements who want to derail the students’ union movement in Manipur,” the release added. AAPSU has asserted it will do whatever it can under the aegis of the North East Students’ Organization (NESO) for ensuring justice to the AMSU.
While extending solidarity with the student community of Manipur and AMSU, AAPSU has urged the government of Manipur to take serious note of the incident and arrest the culprits involved immediately.
