ITANAGAR, Apr 16: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) while expressing serious concern as the second wave of Covid-19 is sweeping across the country has raised alarm over the absence of concrete effort by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to contain the second wave of the pandemic in the state.
We would like to strongly urge the State Government to pull up its socks and be prepared for the impending health emergency in the state. We demand immediate ramping up of Covid-19 vaccination in the state so that people of all age groups are covered and implementation of mandatory wearing of face masks in public places, the union said.
President AAPSU Hawa Bagang and General Secretary Tobom Dai also separately called on Education Minister Er Taba Tedir on the issue of Students Stipend.
Apart from the Stipend issue, the visiting members also apprised the Minister on the urgency of the full-fledged state university established in Pasighat by appointing regular vice-chancellor, Registrar and other staff members to cater to the ever increasing students passing out from colleges every year for higher studies.
