ITANAGAR, Dec 4: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has condemned the joint coordination cum consultative meeting of Adi Mising Baane Kebang held at Ruksin in connection with the Namsai incident terming it “uncalled and worsening the situation.”
The AAPSU stated that the issue is between communities within Arunachal Pradesh and no outsider should interfere in the matter. All matters within the State should be solved through amicably rather than giving more communal colour by inviting communities from outside the State, it said in a release.
The AAPSU also stated that the Misings are encroaching and constructing shelters in Changlang District near Assam-Arunachal Pradesh boundary. The State government should issue eviction order and send them out immediately.
The AAPSU Peace making Committee had been sent to the area as well as the State government has been working to create peaceful atmosphere. The AAPSU has also learnt from reliable sources that many individuals have obtained Scheduled Tribe Certificates in name of indigenous people (Khampti and Adis). The AAPSU will constitute a fact finding committee in this regard and also appeal the State government to formulate policy for the fact finding, said Hawa Bagang President AAPSU while appealing for peace in the area and not to take law in their hands.
