Itanagar, May 15: The All Arunachal Private Schools’ Association (AAPSA) in collaboration with Childline, DBYC reached out to Oju Mission & Sishu Bhawan, Missionaries of Charity here and provided food grains and nutrients to the inmates.
The event was an initiative by AAPSA as a part of its Covid-19 food relief programme for the disadvantaged sections of society. Coordinator of Childline, Peter Langpong gave Covid-19 awareness to the inmates touching the health and hygiene issues. General Secretary of AAPSA Levi E. Katy spoke at Shishu Bhawan, Missionaries of Charity and said: “Although very often private schools are looked upon as money-making instruments, we would like to show to the people of our state that private schools do have a benign and humanitarian face.”  Levi also requested the health workers who look after the children and youths in these shelter homes to take care of themselves as well. 
The AAPSA-Childline team was joined at Oju Mission by CWC Chairperson Advocate Likha Asha and Member, Advocate Jaya Doji. Asha requested the children not to think of running away from the shelter home and exhorted them to stay healthy and safe by following the basic norms of hygiene.  Vice President of AAPSA Fr. Joshua congratulated the Principals for embarking on the noble mission.
