AALO, Jul 7:The Aalo Forest Division celebrated the 68th Vanmahotsava today with a plantation and awareness programme at Vivekananda Kendriya Vidyalaya (VKV) Jirdin. This event marked the culmination of the Vanmahotsava week which started from the first of July. During this week, free seedlings were distributed to numerous villages of the district and would be continued all through the month. Over 200 seedlings were planted inside the school campus.

 Speaking on the occasion, DFO Aalo, Abhinav Kumar exhorted the students to act as messengers to spread the word about conservation among the elders who may not realize the scientific reasons for preservation of trees. He also encouraged the students to join the All India Services to sculpt the future of their state and country.

The event was attended by Ranphoa Ngowa, IFS (probationer) among others.
