Aalo, Nov 7: The dawn to dusk 12-hour bandh call given by All Aalo Students Union on Thursday within the township here went ahead despite being declared as unlawful by the District Administration. All vehicles were off the road and business establishments remained closed without any untoward incidents. However, all government offices functioned normally.
Earlier, the DA had a sitting with executive members of AASU on November 6 last in the office chamber of ADC, Cheechung Chukhu to apprise about the action taken by the government pertaining to all the points raised by the union. But the union decided to go ahead with the bandh call. As precautionary measures, Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum Additional District Magistrate, West Siang in pursuance of the order of Supreme Court, Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 2014 and in exercise of power conferred U/s 144 Cr.PC declared the bandh as illegal and unlawful with caution of stern action on damage to public and private properties.
