ZIRO, Oct 4: The 8th Ziro Butterfly Meet (ZBM) 2021 was inaugurated today at Circuit House, Ziro. The four day programme from October 4-8 will be held at Pange and Tale Valley.
Speaking during the inaugural session, Abhinav Kumar, (IFS) DFO, Hapoli Forest Division called for unified efforts from all the stakeholders to help the Forest department in conserving the rich bio diversity of Tale Valley Wildlife Sanctuary and Pange forest.
"The community based organizations like Ngunu Ziro and other Biodiversity Management Committees have been doing a tremendous job in protecting and preserving the biodiversity of this district. Programs like the Ziro Butterfly Meet will create a platform for all nature enthusiasts and conservationists to exchange ideas and knowledge," he said further exhorting the participants to avail maximum benefit from the meet.
Dr. Tage Kano dwelt on the genisis of Ziro Butterfly Meet.Subject Expert, Nawangla from Sikkim also highlighted on livelihood programs related to Butterflies and Moths and emphasized on eco tourism.
A 3D Promotional video of Tale Valley by Millo Tako, a young birder was also launched during the inaugural program. The video will be made available at Range Office, Pange and at Hapoli Forest Division, for virtual access to people who have not visited Pange and Tale Valley.
The inaugural session was attended by representatives from Ngunu Ziro , Apatani Youth Associations, (AYA) ,Apatani Students Union (ASU) and tourism department. DIPRO
