ITANAGAR, Aug 9: As a part of the decision taken during the monthly review meeting of DDSEs held on July 15 last, Block Level Training Programmes for Cook-cum-Helpers (CcH) were conducted in all blocks throughout the state to ensure quality in preparation of cooked mid-day meals in all the schools up to upper primary level.
At present 6525 Cook-cum-Helpers are engaged in cooking of mid-day meals for school children in Arunachal Pradesh and most of them actively participated in the training. Topics such as Food Safety, Maintenance of Health & Hygiene by CcH, ensuring quality & nutrients in cooked mid-day meals and importance of nutrition garden in schools to supplement mid-day meals were covered.
The training programme was conducted with active participation of the departments like Health & Family Welfare, Food & Civil Supplies, Police etc. Fire safety drills were also demonstrated in some schools by Fire Brigade. Newsdesk
