RAGA, Nov 6: As residents of six villages in Kamle district reportedly developed hesitancy to take the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, the district administration has pressed into action to address their concerns.
Attending an Awareness-cum- Influencers meeting on COVID-19 vaccination and Routine Immunization organized by the District Health Society at Jigi Village under Gepen Circle and Sigin- II Zilla Segment, the Deputy Commissioner Kamle, Adong Pertin, called upon all the eligible residents of the six villages namely Ligu, Hankar, Yitor, Pobo,Bomikoto, and Jigi to take their 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine and make their village 100% vaccinated.
According to the Health Department of the District, these six villages have achieved 100% vaccination with the 1st dose of COVID-19 Vaccine but due to negative social media posts developed reluctance to take their 2nd dose of the jab. Stressing that, good health is real wealth, the DC asked the head gaon burahs, gaon burahs, PRI leaders and the intellectuals of the villages to dispel all the myths and superstitions around the vaccine and take stern action against rumor mongers and make their village 100% vaccinated.
Jigi village located some 120km from the district headquarters is the last easternmost village of Kamle District bordering Upper Subansiri District and Adong Pertin is the first district head to visit the village in the last four decades. During the awareness programme, myth regarding death after getting 2nd dose of COVID 19 vaccine was dealt with by DRCHO Dr. Kapu Sopin. 
Later the DC also inspected schools, health facilities and Anganwadi centres of Mite, Niji and Ligu villages.
