ITANAGAR, Aug 29: At least 5212 jobs for various categories under the Home Department will be created to strengthen the state police force. This was informed by the Minister for Home Bamang Felix in a written reply while responding to a query by Congress MLA Wanglin Lowangdong in the just concluded 7th Session of the State Assembly.
Replying to the query, on any proposal to strengthen the Police force by creating more Armed/Civil Police battalions in the State, the Home Minister replied that proposals have been received from PHQ for strengthening the Police force by creating more Armed/Civil Police Battalions in the State,
As per the proposal PHQ needs STF Battalion with a strength of at least 831various categories of posts, 1000 posts of various categories in Civil Police, 2008 posts for Two IRBNs, one (1) new AAPBN i.e. 3rd AAPBN with at least 935 various posts, separate 438 various posts under Traffic Police and also there is a proposal for strengthening of Special Branch.
However, responding to the query on the time frame, the Minister stated ‘It will be done, as and when the austerity measure is lifted which is in force till October 2021, the proposal shall be taken up for consideration.’
