ITANAGAR, Jun 10: In a marked contrast to the emerging trend of declining casualties that was noticeable over the past few days, 5 more citizens succumbed to the virus, taking the state’s Covid death toll to 133.
A 65-yr old female Covid patient from the ICR with the comorbidity of diabetes who was not vaccinated died on Wednesday evening at DCH Chimpu due to ARDS and Covid pneumonia. A 64-yr old male Covid patient also from the ICR with the multiple comorbidities and not  vaccinated died today at DCH Chimpu due to ARDS and Covid pneumonia. A 30-yr old male from West Kameng whose vaccination status was nil expired today at Rupa CHC due to ARDS and Covid pneumonia. He was suffering from the comorbidity of hypertension. An 84-yr old male Covid patient from Lohit district who was suffering from anaemia and not vaccinated expired today at DCHC Tezu due to Covid pneumonia. An 81-yr old female in Tawang who had congestive heart ailment and was vaccinated with the first dose expired today while in home isolation.
There were a total of 245 new Covid cases in the state and ICR accounted for the maximum with 35, followed by Namsai 29, Changlang 27, West Kameng 20 and Upper and Lower Subansiri with 17 and 15 respectively. Of the total, asymptomatic cases were 137 and remaining 108 symptomatic. Recoveries continued to be more than new cases with a total of 302 on the day. The top six districts were -ICR 50, Lower Subansiri 32, West Kameng 31, Changlang 28,  Lohit 27 and Namsai 21. As on Thursday evening, the state had 3209 active Covid patients and 27150 complete recoveries.
Of the 6731 samples collected from across the state on the day, the first three districts were Namsai (838), ICR (811) and West Kameng (774).
1801 in the 18-44 age group took their first dose, in the 45+ age category it was 1782 for dose 1 and 36 for dose 2. Thursday's occupancy status at the CCCs was- 47 at DCH Chimpu, 27 at SQF Lekhi, 2 at DCHC Midpu, 9 at DCH Pasighat and 33 at DCHC.
