ITANAGAR, Nov 3:  November began on a grim note for the state's covid-19 scene. Barely three days into the month, the state has reported five deaths due to the novel virus. 
On Tuesday four more deaths were reported pushing  the casualty tally to 42. However, bringing some respite, the number of daily infections have dropped from Monday’s 117 to 85, with West Kameng district surpassing the Itanagar Capital Region with 18 new cases.
Among the four patients who succumbed to Covid was a 52-year old male from Sagalee in Papum Pare district who died at DCH Chimpu due to Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and was suffering from comorbidity.
 A 40-year old female who expired at DCH Chimpu hailed from Daporijo in Upper Subansiri district and had Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. The third patient who also expired at DCH Chimpu was a 70-year old male from Humba Pinda in East Kameng district. He was suffering from chronic liver diseases and complications due to Covid infection.
As per the State Health Bulletin issued on Tuesday, the fourth casualty has been attributed to a 58-year old ex-Army man from New Bomdila, West Kameng who died at the district’s Military Hospital, Dahung due to a cardiac arrest.
It needs mentioning that the first three days of November have witnessed 5 deaths in the state which make a daily average of nearly 2, whereas the entire month of October has seen 20 deaths in total. Of the 85 new cases recorded on the day, 71 are asymptomatic and 14 symptomatic, with ICR recording 15 of the total. Total number of recovered/discharged patients on Tuesday was 129, of which 46 were from the ICR. The state’s overall discharge/recovery figure has now touched 13367 and the ICR has the biggest share with 4485.
